Mike Bendzela

Mike Bendzela is a non-fiction writer, apple grower, and old time musician living in Standish, Maine. He is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize for short fiction (1992). His collection of fables and parables, Metazoan Variations: Evolutionary Fables and Other Emblematic Tales, won UnCollected Press's Short Fiction Collection Contest and was published in 2020. A short collection of his columns from the website 3 Quarks Daily won MWPA's Nonfiction Chapbook Series in 2024 and was published in 2025 as Notes From Above Ground.
