Lisa Savage

Lisa taught in the public schools of impoverished rural Maine for 25 years, and after retiring she wrote Heaven Spelled Backwards (currently being serialized in The Bollard). In 2020, she ran for the U.S. Senate earning 5% of votes following a strong performance in four televised debates. Her book Ever Heard of Her? Women of Achievement to Know..And Why You Don’t was published by Industry Books in 2020 as young adult nonfiction, a serial biography of nine American women who deserve more fame for their accomplishments. In 2011, Lisa co-wrote Buggy under the nom de plume Beza Elliott, published on Amazon as young adult fiction, about teens in rural Maine coping with their combat veteran father’s PTSD. From 2008-2020, she has written articles and op-eds that have been published in Common Dreams, the Portland Press Herald, Kennebec Journal, and Counterpunch. She blogs at Went2theBridge.substack.com.
