Kirsten Reed is an author and artist, across multiple mediums. She has worked as a newspaper reporter, and held down a slew of non-literary jobs, from Film & TV extra to lobster boat 'sternman'.
Her first novel, The Ice Age, was published to widespread critical acclaim, and made the Commonwealth Prize Best First Book shortlist. It was Dazed and Confused Magazine's Book of the Month, and the Daily Mirror's Book of the Week.
Several literary journals contain her short stories, essays, and graphic novel-style comics. Her artwork has appeared in galleries, contests, private commissions, and contracted illustration and design work.
She enjoys collaborating with and mentoring others, and has recently branched into editing and copywriting.
She finished her second novel, set in Maine, last year, after many years spent researching and writing. Finding that book the right home is a priority. In the meantime, she has dusted off her longtime love of poetry (both reading it and writing it), and is developing screenplays.
