Kathryn Williams is the author of four young adult novels, a handful of bestselling Disney junior novelizations, and a humorous guide to living with roommates. Publishers Weekly called The Storyteller (HarperTeen) “gently propulsive” and “breezily engaging” and Pizza, Love, and Other Stuff that Made Me Famous (Henry Holt BYR) a “tasty read.”
Originally from Virginia, she now lives with her family outside Portland, where she finds inspiration in the woods, by the water, and in antique stores full of old stuff. A graduate of The University of the South’s Sewanee School of Letters MFA program, she has taught writing to adults but really loves working with kids and teens. Currently, she is a lead teacher at The Telling Room, a nonprofit creative writing center for youth, where she leads in-school residencies, summer camps, and the Young Emerging Authors program.
Kathryn’s essays and journalism have appeared in numerous print and online publications, including Newsweek, the former New York Observer, the Barnes & Noble Book Blog, and Decor Maine. She has a special interest in telling the stories of people through the lens of food.
