Kate Hyers studied television, film, and writing at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Her career in communications has spanned numerous fields, from journalism to politics to international retail, but the one consistent thread has been writing.
Her debut novel, The Courtesan’s Eye, is a fantasy adventure born from a game of D&D. Equal parts gripping murder mystery and forbidden romance, the story follows the titular courtesan as she ventures into a treacherous web of political scheming and dark conspiracies, relentlessly driven by a singular quest: to uncover the truth behind her friend’s brutal murder. The book, coauthored by Kate’s writing partner, debuts Summer 2025 with Conquest Publishing.
Previously in South Portland, Kate now lives in Phippsburg near beautiful Popham Beach. She’s an out-and-proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and she’s been told she has major golden retriever energy.
