Hillary S. Webb

Hillary S. Webb, PhD, is a cultural anthropologist, author, and mixed-media storyteller focusing on theater anthropology and cross-cultural perspectives on human consciousness. Having received her undergraduate degree in journalism from New York University, Webb went on to earn a MA in consciousness studies from Goddard College and a PhD in existential-humanistic psychology from Saybrook University. A faculty member at Goddard College, Webb is also the former Managing Editor of Anthropology of Consciousness, the peer-reviewed journal of the Society for the Anthropology of Consciousness. She is the author of four books, including The Friendliest Place in the Universe: Love, Laughter, and Stand-Up Comedy in Berlin (an anthropological memoir)Yanantin and Masintin in the Andean WorldTraveling Between the Worlds, and Exploring Shamanism as well as various articles, essays, and encyclopedia entries.
