Helene McGlauflin, MEd, LCPC, KYT is a poet, writer and retired educator. She holds a BA in English Literature, an MS in Counselor Education, is a Licensed Clinical Counselor, and a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher. Over her 30 year career as a writer, her numerous articles, stories and poems have appeared in books, small presses, magazines, professional journals and online resources. Helene’s has three collections of poetry: Solstice (2024) preceded by Tiny Sabbath (2010) and Teacher, I Honor You (2016) all published by Finishing Line Press.
Helene is also the author of the booklets: Supporting Children and Teens Through Grief and Loss (a guide for parents; a guide for schools. 1999: Center For Grieving Children, Portland, Maine), published during her years in the grief field, and Calm and Alert: Yoga and Mindfulness Practices to Teach Self-Regulation and Social Skills to Children (2018: PESI Publishing) which draws from her long career as a school counselor and yoga teacher. Helene was awarded the Maine School Counselor’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
Helene is a parent and grandparent and lives in Midcoast Maine with her husband of 40 years, Bruce.
