Gail Faith Edwards

Gail Faith Edwards is an internationally respected Community Herbalist, author, artist, and teacher with deep roots in both rural Maine and the remote mountain villages of Southern Italy - homelands that have profoundly shaped her work.

She is the author of seven books on herbal medicine, spirituality, and ancestral healing, including her latest, Benedicaria: The Blessing Way of Southern Italian Folk Medicine.

In Benedicaria, Gail unveils the ancient wisdom, prayers, and plant-based healing traditions of Southern Italy, offering readers a richly woven tapestry of mysticism, folk medicine, and spiritual devotion. Her work is a bridge between generations, preserving old-world traditions while making them accessible to modern seekers.

Her other books include Opening Our Wild Hearts to the Healing Herbs, Herbal Pharmacy, Traversing the Wild Terrain of Menopause, and Through the Wild Heart of Mary, among others - each a testament to her lifelong dedication to herbal wisdom and healing practices.

A mother of four home-birthed children and grandmother to four grandsons, Gail has spent over five decades tending the land, cultivating medicinal plants, and sharing the gifts of nature’s pharmacy. She brings this same devotion to her art, teaching, and writing, inspiring others to connect with the healing power of the earth and the ancestral traditions that sustain us.
