Sibyl Masquelier

After working for forty years in human resources and international executive recruiting, Sibyl Masquelier had a career-ending accident, endured more than a dozen subsequent surgeries, and refocused her energies on nonprofit volunteer activities and the beginning of her final third of life as a writer.

She served on a two-woman team to recruit a new executive director for Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance, and with his hire she agreed to serve as the MWPA board president from the end of 2010 to early 2013. She continued on the MWPA board of directors through 2013 and cochaired the MWPA’s most successful fundraiser in its history: Hotsy Totsy.

Masquelier is a longtime continuing board member of Global Press Institute and Seven Eagles Media Productions. Currently, she serves as a fundraiser for the Center for Maine Contemporary Art. She is an advisor, supporter, and past board member of the Maine Women's Fund. She is also a volunteer advisor to Your Write Mind.

She is currently writing a memoir, a biography on Mike Parker, and short stories. Masquelier’s business articles have appeared in Mass High Tech, Casco Bay Weekly, Executive Recruiter News, Presstime Magazine, Editor & Publisher, WomensMedia.com, and numerous journals and newspapers throughout the United States. She also won the Autumn of our Years award from Obit-mag.com in 2010.

Masquelier is the administrator of a blog, Mike Parker Font God, chronicling her former husband Mike Parker's ten-year journey from printing-industry icon and software entrepreneur to his final days suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. She also is the administrator of the Multiple Myeloma blog for her sister’s year long bone-marrow transplant treatment and ongoing remission.
