Michelle Menting

Michelle Menting is the author of Leaves Surface Like Skin (Terrapin Books), the chapbooks Residence Time and Myth Solitude, and is co-editor of Waters Deep: A Great Lakes Poetry Anthology. Her writing has been featured widely and in such places as Verse Daily, American Life in Poetry, Cimarron Review, The Southeast Review, DIAGRAM, The Offing, Harpur Palate, and other literary journals and magazines. She is the recipient of awards and residencies from Sewanee, Bread Loaf, Hewnoaks, Joseph A. Fiore Art Center, and the National Park Service, among others, and holds an MFA in poetry and creative nonfiction and a PhD in literature, creative writing, and place studies. Formerly an editor for Prairie Schooner, Passages North, and Split Rock Review, she currently teaches poetry and creative writing at the University of Southern Maine.
